Diary
What is the Diary?
The Diary is a private space for you — the caregiver — not a log of your baby's stats. Write down how today felt, save a photo, mark a mood, or jot a thought you don't want to forget. Bloomlet uses gentle language throughout because this isn't a tracker; it's your own quiet corner of the app. Whatever today is, it can go here.
How is the Diary different from the Memory Book?
They serve different purposes. The Memory Book is a keepsake about your baby — chapters, photos, milestones, exported as a printable PDF for the family. The Diary is about you — your moods, reflections, and thoughts on the day. Memory Book pages are designed to be shared. Diary entries are designed to be private, with optional Face ID lock so only you can read them.
How do I open the Diary and write an entry?
Tap the Diary card on your home screen. On the diary home, tap Write today (or the + button) to open a new entry. Add an optional title, write as much or as little as you want, then tap Save. Your entry shows up immediately in the recent entries strip and in All entries.
Can I add a mood to my entry?
Yes — mood is optional. When writing an entry, tap the mood picker to choose from a five-point scale: struggling, low, okay, good, or great. Each mood has a soft color so your timeline reads at a glance. You can also leave the mood blank if you'd rather not label the day.
What are reflection prompts?
Reflections are gentle, optional prompts that appear on the diary home and inside the editor — things like What do you want to remember about today? or What does your baby need tomorrow — and what do you need? They're there if you want a starting point. Tap a prompt to begin an entry pre-filled with that question, or ignore them and write your own.
Can I add photos, tags, or change the date?
Yes. Inside an entry you can attach photos, add tags (a quick way to group entries by theme — e.g., milestone, hard day, gratitude), and change the entry's date if you're writing about a different day. The date is flexible so a late-night entry can still be filed under yesterday.
How do I lock my Diary with Face ID?
From the diary home, open Diary settings and toggle Lock with Face ID on. Once enabled, the diary requires Face ID (or your device passcode) every time you open it after a short grace period — so you can flip back from a quick interruption without re-authenticating, but the diary re-locks once you've been away. The lock screen also hides previews behind a privacy overlay when you switch apps.
Can I export my Diary to PDF?
Yes — Diary PDF export is a Premium feature. Tap Export on the diary home and choose a date range. Bloomlet renders your entries (with moods, photos, and reflection notes) into a single printable keepsake PDF you can save to Files, AirDrop, email to yourself, or send to a print service. Free users see the export sheet but will hit an Unlock with Premium paywall when generating the PDF.
What are diary insights?
Insights are Premium AI-generated reflections that look at the moods you've recorded over time and surface gentle observations — what days felt heaviest, what helped, patterns you might have missed. Open them from the Reflections card on the diary home. Insights are written in supportive, non-judgmental language and are never shared with anyone else.
How do I edit or delete an entry, and where is my Diary stored?
Tap any entry to open it, then tap Edit to change the text, mood, photos, tags, or date — or tap Delete to remove it (with a confirmation). Your diary is stored privately in your Bloomlet data — on your device and, if you're signed in with Apple ID, in your private iCloud container. Diary entries are not shared with Family Sharing members — even your partner can't read them. They are never shared with third parties or used for advertising.
